Entrepreneurship Development : Training cum Interactive Meet

A two days training programme on Entrepreneurship Development : Training cum Interactive Meet was organized by the placement cell of CCAS, Udaipur from March 15-16, 2019. The main objective of the training was to develop conceptual input regarding entrepreneurship development among students and to provide expert guidance to them regarding entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture and allied areas. Total 200 students of CCA, CTAE and RCA, Udaipur participated in the training. Eminent speakers from MNCs like Myntra, Amazon, Swiggy and reputed educational institutes were invited to provide learning experiences to the participants. Besides successful entrepreneurs from Home Science, Agriculture and Engineering were also invited for entrepreneur-student interaction for best career pathways.

 

Career Orientation Workshop for UG Students

A one day “Career Orientation Workshop” for UG Students of B.Sc Community Science and B.Sc Food Nutrition & Dietetics was organized by the Placement Cell, College of Community and Applied Sciences, MPUAT, Udaipur on September13th, 2019 in collaboration with Indian School of Agri-business, New Delhi and agripositions.com The objective of the workshop was to sensitize students about future career prospects related to agriculture and allied areas. Total 80 students participated in the workshop. Mr. Narendra Singh Rao, Co-founder and chief executive officer at Indian Iris was the key speaker of the workshop. Dr. Dhriti Solanki, Placement Cell Incharge was the Coordinator of the workshop.

 

Walk in interview

Under placement cell, a walk in interview with Ashray, Social Welfare Foundation, Ahmedabad, an NGO was organized on 17th August, 2019 in the college of Community and Applied Sciences in which Mr. Nalin Johari, Executive Director of the NGO interviewed the aspirants. Total 13 students of the college appeared in the interview.

Success through Excellence: Soft Skills Development Workshop

Placement cell, CCAS, Udaipur organized a two days workshop on “Success through Excellence: Soft Skills Development Workshop” from October 14-15th , 2019 in which 50 Undergraduate students of the college participate. The workshop was funded by IDP, NAHEP, MPUAT, Udaipur. The main objective of the workshop was to create awareness among students regarding job avenues, to develop soft skills and to equip them with necessary skills for personality development. Mock sessions were also conducted regarding interview and group discussion. Eminent speakers were invited to delivered lectures on soft skills. Prof. Neeta Lodha, was the Organising Secretary, Prof. Dhriti Solanki, Placement Cell Incharge was Coordinator and Prof. Suman Audichya was Co- coordinator of the workshop.

Entrepreneurship Development through Start ups: Training Cum Interactive Meet

A two days training on “Entrepreneurship Development through Start ups: Training Cum Interactive Meet” was organized from October 16-17th, 2019 under Placement cell of the college. The training was sponsored by IDP, NAHEP, MPUAT, Udaipur. The main objective of the training was to equip students with necessary information regarding start ups, its initiation and to provide an opportunity to have interaction with successful entrepreneurs. Total 24 students of 3rd year and final year B.Sc (Community Science) participated in the training Prof. Neeta Lodha, was the Organising secretary, Prof. Dhriti Solanki, Placement Cell Incharge was Coordinator and Prof. Meenu Srivastava was Co- coordinator of the training.

Academia Industry Interaction Meet

The Placement Cell of College of Community and Applied Sciences, Udaipur has organized one day Academia Industry Interaction Meet on March 6th, 2020. The objectives of the meet wereto increase visibility of newly introduced and ongoing degree programmes among stakeholders, to improve academic-industry interaction for increased employability and entrepreneurship among students, to undertake academic reforms in learning environment to increase learning outcome and to identify specific areas of modification in the existing curriculum as per the changing scenario. There were total 60 participants in the meet including 39 stakeholders and 21 faculty members. The stakeholders were from different NGOs, hospitals, Textile industry, Consultancy services, Counselling Centre,Boutique, IT sector namely BSL Textiles Ltd.Bhilwara, ARHAM Academy, Sankalp Pediatric Rehabilitation Centre, Kalava Arts & Crafts Pvt.Ltd, Foundation to Educate Girls Globally, Achievers, Geetanjali Hospital, Seva Mandir, NIFA Infocom Services, Aavaran, Action Research and Training for Health (ARTH), Vidushi Boutique, AD Consultancy ( Health & Safety), Amity Skills Development Centre, etc. In the meeting Dean and various Heads of the departments made presentations about objectives and activities of the college and departments. This was followed by detailed discussion among faculty & stakeholders regarding industry requirements and competence developed among students. During discussion following suggestions emerged:

 

  • There should be focus on branding of products in the existing curriculum.
  • As Apparel Production Management Unit is functional in the department of TAD to provide hands on training to students, online selling platform can be used to promote marketing of the apparels produced by the students.
  • There is need to have Nutrition Educationist at Anganwadi Centers under ICDS so that deficiency diseases can be managed in rural areas at initial stage.
  • For providing intensive practical exposure to students, internship should be introduced at PG level.
  • There is a need to introduce course on Soft Skills in the existing curriculum.
  • Students should be trained in designing work stations suitable for different occupations.
  • The HDFS department can develop skills among students on effective parenting.
