About the Department

Overview:

Human development as a field is best defined as that branch of knowledge concerned with the nature and regulation of           significant structural, functional and behavioural changes occurring in children as they advance in age and maturity. The   ultimate goal of human development is not simply to produce a series of composite portraits of the child at ages one, two,   three, five, seven or nine- his physical dimension and bodily functions ,how he eats, sleeps, plays, thinks, feels and responds   to others-but to identify the sequential steps between two levels of maturity, to explain how one is transformed into others to   discover the variables that effect the transformation, the factors that facilitates or retard its occurrence, and the uniformities   and differences by which it is characterized. It is also concerned with the reciprocal influence of organism (biological,   psychological, socio-emotional)and environment upon each other.

Our mission:

We belief that quality and ethics matter in education to create quality professionals to meet emerging global social needs     through innovative teaching and learning, applied research, sustained interaction with our stakeholders and placing faith in     human values.
