AICRP (Home Science) Family Resource Management

The department has ongoing All India Coordinated Research Project funded by ICAR, New Delhi from 1980. The major focus of project is on assessment of drudgery prone tasks performed by women farmers and also to design and propagate low cost women friendly technologies to improve the efficiency and productivity in the home, farm and allied activities.

 (I). TRAINING ORGANIZED

(A) Landscaping for Exterior Enrichment: Organized two days training on “Landscaping for Exterior Enrichment” Sponsored by Institutional Development Project /NAHEP on 26th &27th Feb. 2019. In the closing function, Prof. Uma Shanker, Honorable Vice Chancellor, MPUAT was the chief guest and Prof Ajay Sharma, PI, IDP/NAHEP Cell was the guest of honour in Unveiling of Budha sculpture in the central garden at College of Community and Applied Sciences. Prof Ritu Singhvi, Dean, CCAS welcomed the guest and Seema Dwivedi, Training Coordinator gave a vote of thanks.

(B)Landscaping for Green Environment: Organized two days skill oriented training on “Landscaping for green environment” Sponsored by Institutional Development Project /NAHEP on 20th & 21st Aug. 2019.

Rally: Rally organized on Consumer Empowerment: Issues and Challenges on 13th March 2019. The green signal given by Dr. Ritu Singhvi, Dean & Patron, CCAS, MPUAT, Udaipur & Ms. Seema Dwivedi, Head &Organizing Secretary, Department of  RMCS, CCAS, MPUAT.

College magazine released in college annual function on 4th April 2019. Editorial board consists of Prof. Vandana Kaushik, Ms Seema Dwivedi, Prof. Meenu Srivastava & Dr Jaymala Dave.

AWARDS AND HONORS TO FACULTY

 

  1. Dr. Suman Singh was conferred with Senior Scientist Award 2013 by Home science Association of Indiaat 30th Biennial Conference of Home science Association of India on -100 years of Home science - Retrospect and Prospect, 19-21 Dec. 2013 organized at M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara.
  2. Dr. Suman Singh received International Award- Liberty Mutual Medal-2009, by International Ergonomics Association for innovative research in Occupational Safety & Ergonomics with cash prize of US$ 10,000. The award was received at Beijing, China.
  3. Dr. Suman Singh received Maharana Mewar Foundation Special Award- 2010 given by Maharana Mewar Foundation Charitable Trust, Udaipur.
  4. Dr Rekha Vyas and Dr Suman Singh received Kamla Award- 2010 by Indian Society of Training and Development for Best Research Paper published in the Indian Journal of Training and Development, New Delhi. The paper entitled, ‘Mitigating occupational health hazards of agriculture workers through educational intervention, 2008, Volume 38 (3) pp 21-28 was adjudged asthe BEST PAPER for the year.
  5. Dr. Ritu Singhvi was honored by Bharat Ratna Dr. C Subramanium National Award for outstanding teacher in the biennium 2004-05.
  6. Dr. Vandana Kaushik was honored with University Best Teacher Awardfor the year2006.
  7. Dr. Hemu Rathorewas honored with University Appreciation Award for outstanding services on 26th Jan 2014 from the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. O. P. Gill.
  8. Dr Pushpa Gupta, Dr Suman Singh and Dr Asha Singhal (Team Award) received International Award for Best documentary film 2005, in Women & Child category entitled, 'Drudgery Reduction through Improved Technologies' given by UGC-CEC, New Delhi. The Film was adjudged as Best among 246 entries from Asian Countries.
  9. Dr Suman Singh received University Best Teacher Award for the year 2003.
  10. Dr Suman Singh received Swami Vivekananda National Award for Women in Consumer Protection, 2001, by Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
  11. Dr Ritu Singhvi received National Award for Women in Consumer Protection, 1999, by Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
  12.  Dr Jaymala Dave felicitated by university on 15th August 2018 for outstanding service by Honorable Vice Chancellor, MPUAT, Udaipur
  13.   # She Is Udaipur:  Prof. Suman Singh was one of the ‘# She Is Udaipur’ in the area of science for ‘Disseminating Drudgery Reduction Technologies among women farmers”.
  14.   India Book of Records: Prof. Suman Singh is the women researcher who marked her entry in the India Book of Records for her excellence research in the field of empowering women farmers.

VISIT OF DIGNITARIES

  • Visit of officials of John Deere US in September 2011 and 2013 at University and at project site - Railmagra, Rajsamand. John Deere donated a tractor of 50hp and a nine row seed drill to the project. Bernard Hass, Head Tractor division John Deere & Prof. P. L. Maliwal Director Research MPUAT released a VCD on ‘Success Stories’ on women farmers.
  • Prof Klaus J. Zink Past President IEA & IEA Ambassador of International Development visited and delivered a lecture on,‘Ergonomics in globalized world; the role of International Ergonomics Association’onNov 29, 2013.He also visited the project on ‘Mitigating hardship of Indian farm women through technology intervention’ at Railmagra (Rajsamand).
  • Prof Klaus J. Zink Past President IEA & IEA Ambassador of International Development visited and delivered a lecture on,‘Ergonomics in globalized world; the role of International Ergonomics Association’onNov 29, 2013.He also visited the project on ‘Mitigating hardship of Indian farm women through technology intervention’ at Railmagra (Rajsamand). Dr. Daniela Columbini, Professor at the Research Unit EPM (Ergonomics on Posture and Movement), Milan University, Italy, visited the deptt. and conducted a two days’ workshop,February 25- 26, 2008.
  • Dr D Majumdar, Scientist F, DIPAS, Defence Research & Development Organization, New Delhi visited anddelivered a lecture on, ‘Methodologies for assessing ergonomic cost of work in agriculture’ on Nov 17, 2014
  • Dr Nitin Maurya from National Innovation Foundation, Ahmedabad visited & delivered a lecture on ‘Grass root innovations for drudgery reduction- Experiences from Country’ on Nov 27, 2014.
  • Dr Archana Bhatnagar, Prof and HOD FRM, SNDT Bombay, Mumbaivisitedand delivered a lecture on, ‘Influence of environmental parameters on work performance, assessment measures and methods to mitigate’ on Nov 22, 2014.
